Hi, I'm Emily Johanning.
As a civil engineering consultant, I prepared data-driven recommendations to help the public better navigate transportation infrastructure. However, I felt that while these projects were meant to serve the public, their user experience was often overlooked.
This feeling led me to discover UX design, where like-minded professionals were committed to addressing concerns like these. I've found that much of the design process in UX mirrors my previous work, just with more empathy (and faster turnaround times!)
My engineering background honed my skills in systems-level thinking and problem-solving. Currently, I'm designing at Amisplace, where I enjoy tackling opportunities involving UX and product strategy. In my free time, I create UI/UX design case studies that explore product flows and analyze UX strategies for Page Flows.
